"Smoke 'Em" By Pat Payne

Smoke 'Em is an acrylic and mixed media Afro Futurist painting of a black woman preparing to pass through a spiritual threshold. Her eyes are closed and the lit end of a cigarette is visible in her hand. The previous trials she has passed are represented behind her in the form of her younger self entering a maze, her view as she is falling from a rooftop, and her voyage in flaming boat. The floating white feather represents frozen time and hope.
