"Intercultural Indian Woman" By Sheinina Raj
In 1891 my great-great grandmother was kidnapped from Goa India by a British Officer and taken to Lautoka Fiji where she was enslaved in the sugar cane plantations. In honor of my ancestral lineage Indian Woman was the first portrait in the Intercultural collection. In 2016 I set up a private studio in Los Angeles, with a backdrop, a strobe kit, light stands, a soft box, remote, tripod and camera. After 4 photo shoots and 1000+ photos I realized my vision with consideration of my body language, posture, facial expression and look in my eye. The intention is to enlighten cultural ideologies, initiate respect for diversity and unify humanity for a peaceful coexistence worldwide.
