"Living room" By Anne Lauroz

« Living Room » is a figurative painting that finds its inspiration in the exceptional and precious moments I shared with a bunch of friends, trying to escape from the reality of a pandemic that challenged the vision we had on what it means to interact with others, and led to the necessity of « reinventing the world », beginning by ourselves. A study that questions the notions of identity and representation, starring people who - in a safe environment - make fun playing with their own image, through the use of make up and disguises. The result is an out of time, enigmatic and theatrical portrayal reminding the essence of a carnival universe flooded in pastel colors.
